Whitinsville Christian Strings Festival

July 20-24, 2020

New for 2020 – Piano classes!

Details: WCSF 2020 includes:

A Variety of Class Experience: Each day, students will attend an orchestra class, an instrument technique class, a musicianship class and a music elective.

Instrument Classes: We have a place for every student, from first-time beginners to advanced musicians. Students select one instrument track: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, or Piano – and are placed in classes with others close to their age and playing level. This is where specific instruction takes place daily and progress is exciting to see. Classes are small, with personalized attention from expert, caring teachers.

Feature Classes and Ensembles: Students will participate daily in Feature Classes that enhance their musicianship, skills, and creativity, including:

  • Beginners: Music & Movement, Voice, Drumline,
  • Intermediate: Fiddle, Handbells, and Music Theory,
  • Advanced: Chamber Music, Orchestra, and Improvisation.

These classes are pre-selected for each student, based on their registration, appropriate to age and playing level to maximize students’ festival experience! Student master classes in violin, viola, cello, bass, and piano will be selected from pre-recorded auditions.

2020 Whitinsville Christian Strings Festival Concerts

Families and friends are invited to attend daily concerts by students and faculty at 2:00PM in the Nehemiah Center for Arts & Worship. The advanced orchestra will travel to a local nursing home for an outreach performance on Friday morning. Festival week will culminate in a special finale concert on Friday night at 7:00PM.

Note:  At check-in on Monday morning, each student will be given a personalized daily schedule and will meet the teachers.  Class assignments are made based on registration information. If necessary, adjustments may be made after day one.
