One of two branches of Student Government at WCHS, Members of Student Council are elected by their peers to seek ways to improve school spirit and build community, as well as ways to serve beyond the walls of WCHS. Student Council plans school events such as dances and other school spirit events.
They plan New Student Orientation in the fall and the last day of school picnic in the spring. Student Council is led by an Executive Committee whose roles are to lead and work alongside the student council representatives to carry out the roles and responsibilities of Student Council throughout the year.
Class Officers are students with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills who can work with a small team of 3 students to organize and plan class- specific events. Senior class officers also plan the senior class trip, senior gift, and senior assembly. This is an elected position and term is for one year.
MS Student Senate
RSVP (Raising Student Voice and Participation) is a branch of the Student Government at WCHS that serves as a liaison between students and the administration. RSVP consists of Leaders and Facilitators nominated by the faculty and elected by their peers.
These leaders and facilitators implement the Raising Student Voice and Awareness Program. Through a series of three Summits, the student body is given a voice to suggest positive changes to WCHS and the surrounding community. RSVP leaders create proposals and meets the administration to address the issues.
RSVP leaders and facilitators should possess good communication and listening skills, be open-minded and able to work on a team, and be committed to the program.
