Middle School Math Teacher; Choral Accompanist
B.S. Mathematics - Dordt College; Teaching credentials - Calvin College
Serving WCS Since: 2013
I grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the child of a middle school teacher, and was adamant that I would never become that myself. For an adventure, I headed to northwest Iowa to attend Dordt College. I graduated with a math major and a church music minor (and still no intention to teach). I continued studying mathematics at Purdue University, and it was there that I realized I really enjoyed the teaching I was doing, even more than the math! I earned my teaching credentials from Calvin College and then taught at the Euclid High School in Cleveland, Ohio. After living in Iowa, Ontario, Michigan, and Manitoba, our family landed in Massachusetts, where my husband is earning a PhD from Boston College, and my three children attend WCS. I am glad to have the privilege of teaching in the middle school and helping young people grow in understanding of God's work and his world.
