Whitinsville Christian School marked Homecoming weekend on September 29 and 30 by honoring the past and celebrating the present. The weekend kicked off with a pep rally before a cross country meet and soccer matches and ended with the volleyball team improving to a record of 8-0.

Alumni arrived from near and far and were welcomed at a reception on Friday evening. A special luncheon was held on Saturday for alumni who attended WCS in its location on Willow Street. They shared fond memories of walking from the Willow Street building to the current location at Linwood Ave. In its most recent transformation, WCS has expanded the campus this year with an additional 35,000 square feet of space. “The luncheon was a special time to give thanks for all of the blessings the school has seen over its 89-year history,” said Adam Meyer, Director of Advancement.

The newest building project, The Nehemiah Center, houses a new gymnasium and performing arts center. Alumni who were involved in the performing arts were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the new theater and treated to live music by WCS faculty member and musician, Matt Genese.

The live music continued on Saturday between sporting events at a cook-out with carnival games for the kids. The Blue Light Bandits and Jonas Woods performed for families. “WCS has incredible performing arts programs. It is so wonderful to see our alumni become professional musicians and return to us to share their talents,” said Sonia Zeyl, Director of Enrollment. “We’re already looking forward to Homecoming 2018!”
