Tuition Assistance

Tuition assistance is available to WCS families through FACTS Grand & Aid Assessment. If you are in need of assistance, please file an application prior to making any final enrollment decisions. It is our deep desire to work with each family that requires assistance to return next year. In order to apply for tuition assistance, please complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS. For more information, visit online.factsmgt.com/aid. Please note: you will need to select “Create an Account” in order to access the Grant & Aid Assessment portal. The deadline to apply for tuition assistance for the 2024/2025 academic year is March 31, 2024.

Do I have to fill out an application to qualify for tuition assistance?

Yes.

How do we begin the process?

Families applying for tuition assistance will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. Once all documents have been received by FACTS, it may take up to two weeks for the application to be verified.

How is financial aid calculated?

FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment collects information from tax returns, W2 forms, reported expenses, and assets such as investment accounts (not retirement accounts). FACTS then reports an “expected family contribution” and a “demonstrated financial need” to the WCS Finance Department. WCS may award up to 50% of the “demonstrated financial need.”

Will failure to meet deadlines affect the possibility of receiving financial assistance?

The first round of tuition assistance awards are allocated to those who have completed and had their application verified before the March 31 deadline. Those applying after the March 31 deadline are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and any awards are determined contingent upon any remaining funds.

Is my financial information confidential?

Yes. All information is sent directly to FACTS. The Tuition Assistance Committee consisting of the WCS Finance Department and, at most, two members of the Finance Committee (Trustees) have access to the information needed to make award decisions.

Students in grades 10 and 11 are expected to take the PSAT; students in grades 11 and 12 take the SAT and/or ACT. Students enrolled in AP courses take the AP exams at the end of the academic year.

When will I find out about my financial aid award?

Notifications are made by April 15 for those who have a verified application by March 31. Families applying after March 31 are notified at the end of May at the earliest.

Will my family's financial assistance change from year to year if my finances change?

Possibly. Families must apply each year, and awards are determined based upon that year’s application.

Does WCS award merit scholarships?

WCS does not offer merit scholarships.
